Young Adult & Life Transition Therapy in Farmington, Utah

Meet your life with greater confidence

Does this feel familiar?

It’s like everyone expects you to know what comes next.

Young adulthood can look full of possibility while feeling surprisingly disorienting. You may be balancing school, work, living at home, new relationships, or the pressure to become independent, all while wondering why you cannot handle it as easily as everyone else seems to.

Even changes you wanted can bring grief, guilt, and old patterns you do not fully understand.

  • You feel like you should have your life figured out by now, and comparison leaves you feeling behind.

  • You are managing school, work, finances, and living arrangements with little room to rest or reflect.

  • You are finally in a healthy relationship, but old reactions keep showing up and you do not understand why.

  • You want to prioritize yourself or set boundaries with family, but guilt makes it difficult to follow through.

  • You keep pushing through burnout because part of you believes you should be able to handle everything perfectly.

Therapy for young adults who want to understand themselves more clearly

This stage of life asks you to make meaningful decisions while much of your identity is still taking shape. Therapy offers a place to slow down and notice what is happening beneath the pressure. We want to shift from functioning on autopilot to functioning with awareness so you can recognize the patterns you have carried forward, the expectations influencing you, and the values that feel authentically yours.

Counseling for young adults can support both visible transitions and quieter internal changes. We might explore anxiety, burnout, relationships, family dynamics, identity, work stress, boundaries, or the sense that things should be easier by now. Understanding how you respond and why can help you see that you are not failing. Your reactions often make sense when we look at your experiences as a whole.

Young adult therapy with me is reflective, calm, and conversational. I will bring thoughtful questions, genuine curiosity, and a grounded perspective, while you bring your lived experience and your sense of what matters. Together, we can build the awareness and capacity to move through uncertainty with more self-compassion, confidence, and self-trust.

Here’s what counseling can look like.

01. Hear your own voice beneath everyone else’s expectations.

We will explore the messages you have received about success, relationships, family, and adulthood. With more awareness, you can begin to distinguish inherited expectations from your own values and give yourself permission to prioritize what you need.

02. Make decisions with more confidence and self-trust.

You do not have to handle everything perfectly to be capable. Therapy can help you notice when you are overloaded, shift unrealistic expectations, and respond with more self-compassion before burnout takes over.

03. Build relationships where you can be more fully yourself.

Old attachment patterns can show up even in healthy relationships. We can slow those moments down, understand what your nervous system expects, and practice boundaries and communication that support more honest connection.

04. Move through transitions without rushing past what they bring up.

Change can carry excitement, grief, fear, and relief at the same time. Slowing down gives you room to understand those reactions, care for what is ending, and approach what comes next with steadier attention.
